Privacy Policy

Ben Web Studio (“we”, “us”, or “our”) provides BWS Smart Shipping Discounts to Shopify merchants. This policy explains how information is handled when a merchant installs or uses the app.

Information we process

• Shopify store and administrator information needed to authenticate the app, including the store domain, access credentials, and the signed-in administrator’s name and email address.
• Shipping-discount configuration, selected profiles, zones, rates, conditions, schedules, statuses, and run history created in the app.
• Cart, delivery, product, collection, subscription, destination, and customer eligibility attributes supplied by Shopify when evaluating a shipping discount. The app does not build or retain a database of individual customers from these checkout evaluations.
• Support information that a merchant chooses to send by email.
• Anonymous product-usage events, such as which app page was opened, the general subscription state, and whether an app workflow succeeded or failed. Analytics events do not include customer information, administrator names or email addresses, store domains, shipping-discount names, or checkout contents.

How we use information

We use information only to authenticate merchants, provide and schedule shipping discounts, evaluate configured eligibility rules, display run history, troubleshoot the service, prevent abuse, and respond to support requests. We also use anonymous product analytics to understand feature usage, improve reliability, and make the app easier to use. We do not sell personal information or use analytics for advertising or remarketing.

Service providers and disclosures

Shopify provides the commerce platform and app authentication. Cloudflare provides application hosting, database, network, and security services. Google Analytics receives anonymous product-usage events sent from our server. Information may also be disclosed when required by law, to protect legal rights, or as part of a business transfer subject to appropriate safeguards.

Retention and deletion

Store configuration and run history are retained while the app is installed and as needed to provide the service. Authentication sessions are removed when the app is uninstalled. When Shopify sends a shop-redaction request, the app deletes the store’s schedules, targets, run history, and remaining sessions. Customer data-access and deletion requests are acknowledged even though the app does not retain customer-identity records from checkout evaluations.

Security and international processing

We use access controls, authenticated Shopify requests, encrypted network connections, and managed infrastructure safeguards. Because our providers operate internationally, information may be processed outside the merchant’s country under the providers’ applicable safeguards. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.

Your choices and rights

Merchants can update or delete shipping discounts in the app and can uninstall the app from Shopify. For access, correction, deletion, or privacy questions, contact us at ben@benwebstudio.com.au. Buyers should normally submit privacy requests through the Shopify merchant from whom they purchased.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect service, legal, or operational changes. The date at the top identifies the latest version.
